Ezekiel 5

God's Scale

The unique phenomenon about the God Almighty, He is not partial, so there is no credit in being a Jew or Gentle, Men or Women, Slave or Master. As for Him all are important and equal, He weighs all according to their deeds and gives reward.

In Ezekiel chapter 5, God is telling the upcoming judgement over Israel for their disobedience. In verse 15, God says I have placed you in the centre of all nations, this doesn't credit their good deeds instead God's promises to their forefathers, God kept His covenant with them ( Deut. 4 : 6 - 8 ). God expects from them their obedience, but they failed and became an object of wrath.

When God punishes them for their sins, it's a warning ( v. 15 ) to all surrounding nations. In Romans 11 : 21, "For if God didn't spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either". This shows that God will weigh everyone on His scale and rewards to everyone according to their deeds without partiality. Thus, lets serve him with fear and tremble, He is our good Judge.
