God's response of his love!

Malachi 1:1-5

God begins with a straightforward answer to their question of how he loved them.There he turns their attention to show how Jacob was chosen before his birth.

Though this seems as a personal address to Israel yet we see the fundamental principle of God's love. God's election of Jacob is not based on his merit rather he was chosen by God's grace even before his birth.

In New Testament also we see this same principle.We are being chosen not by merit but by his grace through faith in Jesus Christ.If someone asks today how God loves us? The answer is simple " The cross".For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
